Position Summary:

The position is in charge of assessment, community mobilization, CBO formation, grassroots stakeholder coordination, village mapping, capacity development, and behavior change through communication for a donor-funded WASH project. This job is anticipated to take overall responsibility for implementing a behavior change and communication (BCC) campaign / Social and behavioral communication campaign (SBCC) on hygiene promotion, safe sanitation, and water quality management. The job will also be in charge of stressing the need for WASH infrastructure development in communities, as well as conducting social mobilization in conjunction with primary and secondary educational establishments and healthcare facilities. The job will also be responsible for identifying and engaging CRPs in targeted villages to cascade project messaging and ensure sustainability.

Job responsibilities:
Develop a strategy for community interaction, dialogues, and broad-based community gatherings to form project-related social structures at both the communal and institutional levels.
Support data gathering on pre- and post-KAP, needs assessment of villages and communities for current WASH practices, and WASH hardware.
Formation of VWCs/WSGs by social mobilization, with representation from all elements of society.
Capacity building for CBOs, VWCs, and WSGs in leadership, organizational administration, and record keeping for effective, inclusive, and gender sensitive community engagement.
Identifying and developing CRPs for job planning, task assignment, and completion reports.
Liaison and coordination with VC/NC members to ensure effective involvement in relevant activities.
Capacity building for elected and appointed government grassroots officials on PATS+

Community mobilization for sanitation management using low-cost, self-help solutions
Prepare village profiles and community involvement plans.
organize and conduct community meetings, capacity development activities, walks, events, and other sensitization and communication strategies for hygiene awareness.
Identifying and solving community WASH needs using participatory approaches
Community mobilization for activation and assistance to officials in the verification and certification of committees with ODF communities.
To help project coordinators and the MEAL unit prepare case studies and success stories.
Reporting daily, weekly, and monthly progress to the relevant quarters
Ensure accountability and make the greatest use of project resources to meet project objectives.
Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor of social sciences
2-3 years of social mobilization experience, including at least 1-2 years in the WASH sector.
Having area-specific experience is really desirable.
Ability to work in a difficult setting with various assignments and short deadlines.
Excellent computer operation skills, particularly with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
Community mobilization and motivating skills

Problem-solving and negotiating skills
Fluency in local languages combined with solid English knowledge
