Functions & Responsibilities: 

  • contributes to the organization's overarching aims and objectives  

  • In the field, he or she will guide the team.  

  • Attend to patients and, if necessary, direct them to specialized medical facilities.  

  • To guarantee that necessary medications are available and promptly notify the Health Coordinator/PBHO, KP, of any medication shortages.  

  • to manage the ambulance used to deliver patients in an emergency to different medical facilities.  

  • Provide assistance to people of various ages, genders, and religious backgrounds.  

  • Assemble and make sure that daily and monthly reports and records are submitted on time.  

  • to regularly hold staff progress meetings  

  • Possible need to carry out additional relevant tasks delegated by a supervisor in accordance with the organization's policies.  

  • Perform medical evaluations, diagnoses, and examinations on patients of all ages.  

  • Administer medications and other medical interventions as needed. 

  • Offer counselling and health education to patients regarding their conditions and treatment plans. 

  • Respond to medical emergencies and give prompt medical aid as needed.  

  • Stabilize critical patients and make appropriate referrals or transfers to higher-level healthcare facilities.  

  • Encourage preventative healthcare practices and educate patients on living a healthy lifestyle.  

  • Maintain accurate and current medical records for all patients.  

  • Record patient histories, diagnosis, treatments, and follow-up plans.  

  • Collaborate with other healthcare experts, including as nurses, chemists, and support staff, to provide comprehensive patient care.  

  • Consult and refer patients to specialists as needed.  

  • Adhere to all applicable medical, ethical, and regulatory criteria.  

  • Ensure that the health unit follows local and national healthcare regulations.  

  • Participate in quality improvement and assurance programs to improve the quality of care given by the health unit.  

  • Ensure the availability and proper operation of medical equipment and supplies in the health unit.  

  • Create requisitions for medical equipment and supplies as needed.  

  • Continuing medical education allows you to stay up to date on the newest medical developments, research, and best practices.  

  • Assist in managing and coordinating the health unit's daily operations. Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure that patient scheduling and processing are efficient.  

  • Show cultural competency and sensitivity when meeting the different healthcare demands of the patient population.  

  • Provide regular reports to health unit management on patient data, health trends, and any significant medical issues.  

  • Implement and implement safety and infection control measures to ensure a safe healthcare environment for both patients and employees.  

  • When appropriate, train and mentor medical workers and healthcare providers.  

Education 

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and PMDC licensing. 

Experience 

  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience.  

  • Strong clinical knowledge and skills.  

  • Excellent reporting and communication skills.  

  • Valid medical license and registration.  

  • Clinical expertise in a healthcare setting, preferably in primary care 

Competencies 

  • Fluent in Urdu, English, and Pashto.  

  •  

  • Flexible travel to undertake field visits for coordinating reasons  

  • Good grasp of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).  

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.  

  • Compassion and empathy towards patients.  

  • Understanding of local and national healthcare regulations.
